๐Ÿ’ฐ The Magic Formula

Revenue vs. Profit

The Concept

If you take in $20, did you make $20? Not quite!

Revenue: All the money that enters your hand.
Expenses: The cost of materials and tools.
Profit: What is left over for YOU.

Revenue โˆ’ Expenses = Profit

The Example

Maya sells bracelets at school for $4 each. The beads and string cost $1 per bracelet, so each sale leaves her $3 of profit in her pocket.

๐ŸŽฏ Your Mini-Challenge

If you sell a painting for $10, but the canvas and paint cost $3, what is your profit?
